capitola

Well hello! I recently took the annual family trip to santa cruz/ capitola and it was marvelous! It seriously couldn't have been a better time, day, moments, and company. It was so refreshing to be near the shores again and feel the warmth of the sun on my skin. My family means the world to me and so to share this was a glimpse of true happiness for me.

The sights, sounds, and smell of capitola is always breathtaking. it appears to be this small low key beachside community with a hint of europe tucked away in little pockets that once found, feel like a treasure! there is a mosaic of colorful tiles aligning the shore, many funky little boutiques, and tasty foods and delicious coffee to sip on all while talking a little stroll on 'lawn way'.

i was talking to my beautiful friend emma today about life, love, and new journeys. she has just embarked on an amazing 2 year adventure with the Peace Corps working in Guatemala. I loved hearing about some of the beautiful moments she has experienced thus far, and knowing that i not only have had those in kenya, but they are to come for me as well as i try to prepare to return. not gonna lie, im all over the place emotionally, more so that i thought i would be. but she said something really powerful in our charla today and here is what it is:

i love it. and yet its so simple. we talked about changing our thoughts, especially the negative ones. and to just take it one day at a time 'un dia la vez'. she is beautiful and rare and a jewel.

here is a good, hard, thought provoking quote for you to just sit in for awhile, i sure am!
