well, here i am, typing away on my mac in washington dc sitting next to my soulmate ash....life couldnt be better. actualy, it could, if my cali fam was here too. but nonetheless, its the beginning of the new journey im about to trek on. i honestly dont think its really hit me yet, i am somewhat grasping what it means to go and not return. i have been incredibly blessed this last week with so much support, love, encouragement, and wise words to last me a lifetime. This last week has been especially hard with uncertainty and many question, but all in all i know im doing the right thing.

so for those who are wondering: i am moving to kenya to study at Nairobi Evangelical Graduate School of Theology (NEGST). I am planning to begin a master in christian education program. I dont intend to finish there but most likely complete my masters program Talbot (biola) which im really looking forward to that experience when the time comes. im living in the "single" housing on campus which will be nice. One: i dont have to pay for transportation to and from school and Two: i get to meet some single ladies that i can become friends with and hopefully grow to trust. I will have my own room and share a bathroom with the girl on the other side. we will have a common eating/ living area as well. I know it will be different from my biola student living experience, but hopefully there are some similarities i can observe. I'm also hoping to volunteer my time at the BYGRACE childrens home. Its the orphanage i was at last summer with my BU team. I will be helping plan the winterterm trip of BU students, teach kids how to type, instruct guitar lessons, and possibly begin a spelling bee for the schools. As well as continue to build and blossom the relationships i made with the children at the home.

I plan to sign up for a hermeneutics class and possibly an education class. Im REALLY looking forward to being the classroom again. i do miss school ( as crazy as that sounds). and im excited to see how the british based system of learning works. Im still wondering how I'm going to learn how to get around, eventually speak swahili, and how to make new friends. Im excited to start ministy at a church and to see how the Lord works in and through me while in kenya.

and for those who are interested: as you know, im about to see steve in one week, AHHHHH! its exciting but im also really nervous. we havent seen each other in over a year so...ya know, that will be interesting : ) but i know we are both looking forward to spending time together, learning about each other, and discovering more about our relationship and where we are going.

once again, thanks for supporting me in this new journey. your love, words, hugs, tears, laughter, and prayers are my most valuable possessions as i go. know that i carry you with me. so get your nalgene bottle and sunscreen on, it will be a wild ride!
